Anne Deegan - Chairman
Anne is a Bachelor of Business Studies graduate, a chartered management accountant, and is also Chairperson of the Alumni Association Executive Board.

Since graduation, Anne has worked in London and Dublin in the funds industry with Kleinwort Benson Investment Management and Bankers Trust amongst others. Anne joined the NASDAQ-quoted SEI Investments in 2000 as Chief Executive of its Dublin office. Since then Anne has grown her staff to 120 employees and her organisation accounts for 10% of SEI's $272 billion mutual fund and pooled assets.


Aidan Holland BA, FCMA, MBS - Vice Chairman
Aidan is Head of Distribution, Administration, Editorial Services & Facilities at Examiner Publications (Cork) Ltd., who publish the Irish Examiner and Evening Echo newspapers.

A 1997 graduate of the BA in Business and Finance at WIT, Aidan later completed the Chartered Institute of Managements accountancy (CIMA) exams in 1998 and completed his Masters of Business Studies in “Business Process Re-engineering” in 1999. Aidan has been with the Thomas Crosbie Holdings Group since 1999. From 1999 to 2001 he was General Manager of the Kingdom Newspaper before his current role with Examiner Publications (Cork) Ltd. Outside of work, Aidan is a committee member and Past President of the Cork and Kerry Branch of CIMA and also a member of the Ballinhassig GAA Club, who are a very successful Hurling Club in the south east of Cork.

Edel Devane
Edel graduated from WIT with an honours BBS degree in 1999 and obtained a MBS in International Business in 2000. Following graduation she joined AIB Capital Markets in Ballsbridge, Dublin. She has gained extensive experience in Corporate Banking and now holds a management position based in the IFSC. She is actively involved in a number of social and business organisations in Dublin including the Trinity College Foresight Business Group. She is a qualified interior designer and financial advisor.

Michael Dollard
Michael is a Bachelor of Business Studies (WIT) graduate and also holds a Masters (Msc) in Supply Chain Management (DIT). Michael has worked for Hasbro Ireland since 1988 and is currently Planning and Procurement Manager. Michael has for many years lectured on a part-time basis in WIT on Supply Chain related subjects.



Matt English
Matt is a Chartered Management Accountant and graduated from WIT in 1984. Matt has worked in London and Dublin with a number of multinational companies including British Petroleum, Comdisco Inc., EDS and Modus Media. In more recent times Matt was the CFO for the 2003 Special Olympic Games and was the CFO of Digicell. In 2004 Matt joined Christies Estates, an overseas property investment specialist organisation based Dublin as Managing Director.
Kevin Gahan
Kevin graduated from WIT in 1986, from the faculty of Electronic Engineering. He was recipient of Student of the Year Award in 1985. He became the 1st Chairman of the WIT GAA Club in 1984. He captained the WIT Hurling team to its first win in Division 1 Hurling in 1985-86, this marked the entry of WIT into the Universities of Ireland Competition, which gave them eligibility for entry into the prestigious Fitzgibbon Cup Competition. He commenced his career in Electronic Engineering in London in 1986, initially in production, then in Research & Development. He subsequently returned to Ireland and formed his own construction company.


Ray Heffernan
Ray Heffernan comes from Glenmore in Co. Kilkenny and graduated from Production Engineering in 1983. He worked in the Production and R&D Departments of Waterford Stanley for 3 years following which he began working in the insurance business with Abbey Life in 1987. Ray started his own insurance broking business in 1988 with his brother and later branched out into auctioneering and general insurance. Based in Waterford and employing 10 people, they represent all the major life and non-life insurers and recently expanded into the mortgage business representing 14 different lenders.
Ray holds a QFA (Qualified Financial Advisor)having completed the Life Insurance Association Diploma and a Diploma from the Institute of Professional Auctioneers And Valuers MIPAV.


Hellen Kang
Hellen studied MBS in Internationalisation in 2001. Following graduation, she joined International Office of Waterford Institute of Technology. She has gained extensive experience in international marketing and now she is China co-ordinator. Currently she is involved WIT's cooperation programmes with Chinese partner universities, and recruiting international students for WIT.
Bernard Keane
Bernard graduated from WIT in 1996 with a degree in Construction Management.
Since graduation Bernard has worked in the pharmaceutical industry, on behalf of both clients and contractors in engineering and commercial roles. Companies and sites
include Ivax, Merck Sharpe and Dohme and Wyeth Medica. Bernard joined Winthrop Engineering, a Mechanical and Electrical contracting company in 2004 and has since been promoted to Projects Director for both the Waterford and Cork Offices. He is a native of South Kilkenny and a keen follower of local and county GAA

Salvador Nash
Salvador is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators. While studying for those exams, he qualified from WIT in 1989 with a Certificate in Professional Administration. He is a Director in KPMG's Corporate Legal Advisory Services Division and has Director responsibility for providing company secretarial and company law advice to a variety of clients.

Mailo Power
Mailo graduated from W.I.T. in 2005 with a B.A.(Hons.), Degree in Art and Society. She was a recipient of A.I.B. Student of the Year for Humanities and is presently studying for her M.A. Fine Art in the University of Gloucestershire.

An interior designer of twenty years, with Great Southern Hotels and Dunne Leisure Hotels among her client list. Mailo’s artistic flair is evident throughout the totally original Athenaeum House Hotel, Waterford which she jointly manages the with her husband Stan.
