Extract from the Call for Papers document:
This conference seeks to theorise and analyse political spirituality, or ‘ekstasis’ (from the Greek “to stand outside of oneself, to transcend oneself”), that is, a way of being that is characteristic of extraordinary times and events where the ordinary structures of society withdraw and the course of events becomes open and contingent as in breaches, crises, and social and political revolutions.
