Upcoming Events at WIT

Title: Back to Education - Mature Applicants Open Evening

Date: Wednesday, 10 March 2010

Location: The Auditorium, Main Campus, Waterford Institute of Technology

Time: 6-8pm

Are you aged over 23 and interested in going back to education? If so, come along to our information evening for mature students on Wednesday 10th March 2010 between 6pm and 8pm and find out more about all that WIT has to offer you.

The evening should help you find out:

  • which course most suits your requirements
  • how to apply for that course
  • what financial assistance may be available to you
  • what college life is like and what supports are available for the mature student returning to education

WIT course options:

WIT offers hundreds of courses across business, education, science, engineering, humanities and health sciences; and across numerous levels from return-to-education taster courses to HETAC level 6 to 10 courses. Given this wide variety, WIT is sure to have something to suit your current needs and future ambitions. Our academics and administrative staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about our courses.

  • Undergraduate courses, HETAC Levels 6 – 8 (full-time and part-time)
  • Postgraduate courses, HETAC Levels 8 – 10
  • Summer school (one week return to education taster course)
  • Foundation courses (one year return to education course)
  • Personal Development programmes
  • Continuing Professional Development programmes

How to apply to WIT

There will be two information sessions throughout the evening, which will take you through the process of applying to the CAO for a fulltime undergraduate course:

  • Session 1: 6.15pm in the main Auditorium
  • Session 2: 7.00pm in the main Auditorium

If you miss the “How to Apply” sessions, information on applying for an undergraduate course or any of the other courses will also be available at the main information stand throughout the evening.

Student Life and Services

The Student Life and Services Office will be present on the evening to give advice on:

  • Financial assistance including fees, grants, student assistance fund etc. Please not that information on financial assistance is given as a guideline only and any decisions relating to financial aid lie with external agencies.

  • Summer school
  • Mature student supports
