First Year Students
Registration Process
Registration for first year students is in three stages.
Stage 1:
You MUST accept the offer of a place on the course of your choice through the CAO system by Monday 30th August, as indicated by the CAO. This is a prerequisite for registration at WIT. Applicants who do not accept a place through CAO cannot be registered at the Institute.
Stage 2:
Having accepted your place through the CAO, you MUST proceed to register and pay your fees online. The registration facility will open on Wednesday, 1 September 2010 at 9:00. Login details for this facility will be sent to you with your letter of offer and will include a username and password.
Stage 3:
You must also attend the Institute for Registration Day. The dates scheduled for Registration Day are Thursday 2nd September and Friday 3rd September 2010. Details of the exact time and date when you must attend will be available when you register online. It is also compulsory to attend student induction which is scheduled for Monday 6th September.
Classes commence on Tuesday, 7th September 2010. Timetables will be available during Induction. You must be registered to attend class.
Fee Payment
The charge for registration, examinations and students services is €1,500.
A fee of €15 for your WITCard (student identity card) is also payable. You can get more information about the WITCard at http://www.witcampusservices.ie/WITCard/
You will need a Laser/Credit Card to pay your fees online. A receipt will be issued to your specified email address and you must bring the receipt with you on Registration Day.
There is a late registration fee of €150 for students who do not pay on time.
Note:
- If you do not have access to a computer, WIT will provide a facility for you on Registration Day. This may cause queuing and possible delays.
- Similarly, if you do not have access to a credit/laser card, WIT will issue you with a fee giro for payment in the bank. This will also necessitate queuing and possible delays.
Maintenance Grant Holders
If you have confirmation that you will be awarded a Maintenance Grant for the academic year 2010/11 from either a Local Authority or a Vocational Education Committee you must bring with you on Registration Day the letter of confirmation from the Awarding Authority. Photo Upload for WITCard
You may wish to upload a recent photograph for your WITCard and you can submit this on line as part of the registration process. Alternatively, a photograph will be taken of you on Registration Day.
Student Induction
Student Induction will take place on Monday, 6th September 2010. Further information will be given to you on Registration Day.
Follow On or Continuing Students
If you have passed the current stage of your programme of study, you must register for the academic year 2010/2011 before you return to the Institute on Monday 6th September 2010. Failure to re-register on time will incur a penalty of €150 late registration fee. To register online with the password you used for accessing your examination results click here .
Note: If you have been awarded a grant you will still be required to pay €15 for your WITCard.
