The Literacy Development Centre (LDC), based in the School of Education & Professional Development launched its Strategic Plan for 2010-2014 on October 11, 2010 by Minister Seán Connck, T.D. at a conference addressing issues, challenges and the and the current policy context in adult literacy today. The strategic plan focuses on the continuing need for professional development for those working in the sector, the ability of the LDC to respond to those needs in a creative and innovative way and the requirement for further research in the field to inform policy development at national level.
