Get a Life, Get Active!
Being physically active makes us feel better both physically and mentally. Benefits of regular physical activity include:
- Better health
- Helps control weight
- Puts us in a good mood!
- Gives us more energy
- Helps us relax and sleep better
- Helps keep blood pressure and cholestrol levels healthy
- Builds stronger muscles and bones
- Enhnces self esteem and confidence
How much is enough?
The aim is to accumulate at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days. Stay between light to moderate effort if you haven't been physically active or a long time
Play safe
- Use comfortable footwear.
- Wear comfortable clothing that suits your activity.
- Wear safety gear appropriate to the activity e.g.helmet while cycling.
- Choose a safe well-lit and well-used route when outdoors.
