Money Matters

How do I pay?
You must pay the full fee with your application form. For online applications, payment can be made with Credit or Debit cards. When you make a payment online you will automatically receive a receipt via email. If you don’t have access to a Credit/Debit card you can still apply online by choosing payment option B. Simply send in your payment by cheque, Postal Order or Bank Draft (made payable to Waterford Institute of Technology) to our office within 10 working days of your online application. On receipt of your payment your application will be processed.

Please Note: Cash payments are not accepted. Where employers are funding your fees, you are required to seek payment or reimbursement from your employer.WIT does not offer invoicing facilities.

Is there any funding available for courses?
As all adult education courses operate on a self-financing basis, you are required to pay your own tuition fees. The following supports may be worth considering:

• WIT Bursary for the Unemployed and One Parent Families:
We encourage those in receipt of Job Seeker's Allowance or Benefit  or One Parent Family Payment to apply as part time students to WIT in order to improve their employment prospects. For this reason we are offering a bursary to all applicants (circa 25% of the cost of the course) in receipt of any of these three welfare payments at the time of application. Please provide evidence of your payment by supplying your PPS number and signing the declaration which states that the information you are submitting is accurate and honest. Your details will be verified by the Department of Social and Family Affairs. (Please see the reduced fees listed by programme in the part time prospectus under the heading 'Cost, if eligible for bursary'. This scheme will be subject to review at the end of the 2011 - 2012 academic year and does not apply to any of our part-time postgraduate programmes or professional and personal development courses.)

• Tax Relief:
People pursuing part-time courses leading to a Third-level qualification may be eligible for Tax Relief on their fees if paying from their own income. Registered employers may also be eligible to claim relief on course fees paid for employees. For further details, please contact your local Revenue Office to get a form IT31 or visit www.revenue.ie

NB: Always retain your receipt of payment for tax purposes.
