Waterford Institute of Technology

Waterford Institute of Technology has exchange partnerships with approximately 25 universities worldwide.  Successful agreements have been established between Waterford Institute of Technology and universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

We welcome International students on the International exchange programme every year into our Schools of Business, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Health Sciences.

To Apply

• To apply to WIT as an International exchange student you must make this application through the International Institutional Coordinator of your home university.

• You will be required to complete our International exchange application form which asks you to specify your intended area of study and length of time you plan to stay at the Waterford Institute of Technology.

• All Incoming International exchange students are required to possess sufficient language skills to attend lecturers and sit examinations.

• If English is not your first language you will be required to demonstrate that you have this competence to undertake study through English by presenting evidence of achievement in IELTS or TOEFL test.

• Business & Humanities – 6.0 IELTS or 553 TOEFL

• Science & Engineering –  5.5  IELTS or 527 TOEFL

Academic Calendar

Our academic year commences in September and ends the following May.  We accept applications for:

• Full Academic year – (September – May)

• Autumn Semester – (September – December)
