Aisling is Manager of SETU's ArcLabs Research and Innovation Centre. Aisling has 15 years experience working across various research and innovation roles, with research positions on the European funded SLNIW, FIERE and eDIGIREGION projects in the Centre for Enterprise Development and Regional Economy(CEDRE) as well as in the Office of Research and Innovation as National Research Programme Officer. Aisling completed her PhD in entrepreneurship in 2016 under the supervision of Prof Bill O’Gorman at Waterford Institute of Technology. Her PhD focussed on the area of entrepreneurship and networks, with specific interest in the dynamic nature of entrepreneurs’ network development. Aisling has presented her research internationally, across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the US.
Aisling has been involved with Network Ireland since 2017 and was National President in 2021, bringing the Network Ireland National Conference and Businesswoman of the Year Awards to Waterford's Theatre Royal.
ArcLabs represents a unique entrepreneurial ecosystem, marrying academia, research, innovation and enterprise. Aisling is active in advocating for the region in terms of our capacity to support high potential start-ups. She supports the ArcLabs community while seeking entrepreneurs and business ideas for the future development of ArcLabs. Aisling is open to business ideas and ways that SETU can support the development of enterprise in the region.
