Angelo graduated with a Higher Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a BSc.(Hons) in Management from the University of Dublin in 1990. His postgraduate qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute in 2014 and an MSc. in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey graduating in 1992.
Angelo's main area of teaching is in the wider area of tourism studies and management with a particular interest in the Impacts of Tourism and Sustainable Tourism Development. He also lectures in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and more recently in Digital Marketing. His teaching is at a variety of levels including courses at levels 6, 7, 8 and at level 9 through the delivery of Heritage and Cultural Studies in the MA in Arts and Heritage Management.
Angelo has held a number of positions since graduation in the area of Hotel and Catering Management and in the travel sector in Ireland and abroad including positions in the US and London. Since 1996, he has been a full-time lecturer in Tourism at Waterford Institute of Technology. He is the course leader for the BA (Hons) in Tourism Marketing and in the past course leader on the Higher Certificate in Tourism with Business and acting course leader on the National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Studies.
