French native, Catherine Lacoste is a lecturer in WIT since 2001. She had been involved in the pilot project in teaching French courses to primary teachers in a post-graduate diploma. She has been lecturing in the Department of Language, Tourism and Hospitality in a range of French undergraduate courses across all levels.
After completing the French equivalent to a B.A. in English language, Literature and civilisation in Paris she obtained a 'Diplome d'enseignement des langues et des cultures', the equivalent of a post-graduate diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign #language which enabled her to return to Ireland to teach her own language .
She has a keen interest in cinema (especially European cinema) and the arts and was involved for numerous years in the organisation of a French Film festival which was part of the Waterford Imagine Festival.
