My Biography

  1. Conor graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2000 with a BSc in Commercial Software Development and graduated from Dublin City University in 2005 with an MSc in Internet Systems. Conor recently graduated (2019) from Munster Technological University with MA in eLearning Design and Development.  
  2. Conor has been working as a technical officer in the Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL) since 2014 supporting staff and students in all Technology-Enhanced Learning-related activities as well as the development and delivery of training material on the Learning Management System Moodle. Before joining the CTEL team Conor worked in the Computing and Mathematics Department since 2009 working on a student retention project for programming students and assisting the Head of Department on staff allocations. Conor also works as a part-time Lecturer on the fully online Higher Diploma in Computer Science.
  3. Prior to Joining Waterford Institute of Technology, Conor worked in the private sector for 22 years in Waterford Crystal in various roles, from 1996 to 2009 Conor worked in the software development section of the IT department working on various projects along with supporting systems.

  1. Part time Assitant Lecturer on Higher Diploma in Computer Science.
  2. 1st Year Programming Support to Students in the Computing & Mathematics Dept.
  3. Staff CPD training on various aspects of Technology Enhanced Learning using the Learning Management System Moodle.

Professional

Previous to WIT Conor worked as an Analyst / Programmer (RPG/CL and SAP/ABAP) on many IT projects during his 22 years in Waterford Crystal including;

  1. Implementation of Query/400 user roll-out and training programme
  2. Implementation of SAP from BPCS systems
  3. Data migration from legacy systems to SAP
  4. Platform migration from AS/400 architecture to win-tel
  5. Interface to external applications
  6. Introduction of new companies into existing organizational units on SAP
  7. SAP Development (ABAP Programming)
  8. RPG / CL Programming (AS /400 Platform)
