My Biography

I started out my working career as an apprentice electrician with Kentz working on various projects across the world, as a qualified electrician I worked with Kentz and Mercury Engineering as a Supervisor and later with Cheevers Smart Solutions as a Project Manager, all the time studying at night time in order to further my career. I eventually joined FAS as an Electrical Instructor training apprentice electricians, while at FAS I completed a Higher Certificate in Training and Further Education and later when at WIT completed a BSc(H) in Electrical Technology.

I have been Lecturering at WIT for the past 17 years, in that time I have worked across many Departments and Disciplines including Trade Studies, Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Building Services, Sustainable Energy Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

I currently deliver the following Modules: Electrical Services Design, Engineering Management & Enterprise, Lighting & Daylight Design, Acoustics & Lighting, Electrical Plant Technology, Industrial Standards & Legislation, I also supervise final year project across many different disciplines.

I have a keen interest in PLC's and Industrial Automation as well Computer Aided Lighting Design. I am currently Year Tutor for Years 2 and 3 of the BEng (O) in Electrical Engineering.

I spent 2 years working as an Electrical Instructor at FAS Training Centre Waterford

I have been Lecturing at WIT for the past 17 years.

10 years in Electrical Trades

2 years in Electronic Security Systems 

5 years in the Department of Engineering Technology (various disciplines)
