My Biography

Dr Joe Power obtained his   PhD in Chemistry from UCD in 1980, and has been a Lecturer  and subsequently a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry in  WIT since that time. He is the programme leader for the BSc in Pharmaceutical Science. His research interests have been in the area of  HPLC validation and optimisation, and development of novel microemulsion mobile phases for HPLC and CE applications in pharmaceutical analysis.

He has supervised several PhD students in this area, and has previouly collaborated with Pharmaceutical Industrial Partners in Analytical method development and pharmaceutical multi dose inhaler development.
