Linda Shehan RN, RM, Dip Ent, BSc (Hons) Nursing, MSc (Econ), DHC.
I qualified as a registered nurse (Waterford) , registered midwife (Coombe Hospital Dublin) and I hold a post graduate diplomain ENT and Head and Neck (King's Cross, London). I completed my BSc (Hons) Nursing in 2000 in Dublin City University, a MSc (Econ) in 2002 in University of Wales Newport and my Doctorate in Health Care (2013) in King's Collge London. I am a lecturer in the Department of Nursing since 2006 where I teach undergraduate and post graduate programmes.
My area of interest is clinical skills learning and teaching.
In 2000 I completed a study of the Clinical Learning Environment for Nursing Students. In 2002 I completed a study that explored clinical supervision in the community. In 2013 I completed my DHC where I completed a RCT exploring the use of a multiple intelligences teaching approach for clinical skills teaching.
I have supervised a number of students at post graduate level. I supervised a student to PHd level in 2014. This student explored the provision of antenatal care in the Soth East.
I am currently supervising a masters student by research exploring the care of babies with developmental dysplasia of the hip.
I started working as a lecturer in nursing in 2006. I teach on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. My interest lies in a multiple intelligences teaching approach.

In my professional nursing career I have worked in Ireland, Australia, England and Wales where I worked in a number of different clinical settings.
