Group Manager: I managed a team of Managers doing Remote Localisation Project Management in Subsidiaries (Latin America  - Miami,   France, Sweden, Poland, Holland, Hungary). This team of managers were based in different geographical regions.  Their responsibilty was to ensure that locale specfic issues  were addressed, managed and resolved.

Group Manager: I mananged a team of Dublin based Localization Support Managers. Firstly there was the Localisation Management Team  and Vendor Support Team responsible for providing support to offsite Localization Vendors.  Also process management for Quality Assurance of Outsourced services for offsite Software Vendor Testing Service.  Monitored financial performance, and budget allocations for vendor based services of work being done offsite, in European Localization Vendors. Responsiblities included Vendor Audit visits.

Group Software Manager:  for software staff (responsibilities included staff and process management within both the Testing and Engineering Groups) who were responsible for the quality of localized Microsoft Operating (Windows, Windows NT, and MS Mouse). Languages included (French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Central and Eastern European Languages).  Reported to the Business Unit Manager, and managed a team of 1 Engineering Team Lead, and 3 Test Team Leads.

Group Testing Manager: for software Testing Group.  Duties included staff recruitment and performance management of software testers. Responsible for management and definition of quality metrics on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Operating Systems software products in various European languages (Iberian, Central European and Nordic Areas).  I managed a 4 Testing Team Leads, which were responsible for MS Excel, MS DOS, Windows, Windows NT.

 

NCR (North UK Region)                                                                                                  Dublin, Ireland          

Consultant:  working in the Systems Support Division in Northern UK region of NCR. Pre-sales Support for NCR technologies based on systems targeted at Point of Sale Customers in Department Stores as well as Systems targeted at the Retail Banking Customer Segments.   I was involved in Projects based in Dublin, Belfast & London.  My activities included the development of demo systems as well as documentation for Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions being used in to pursue sales and marketing initiatives for the region.  This role required research into customer needs, as well as research into the capabilities of current NCR technologies that were used in Systems NCR deployed into Banks, Post Offices and Department Stores.  Also I was involved in delivering demonstrations of NCR systems applications development products to potential customers.

                                               

Nixdorf CATT                                                                                                 Bray, Co Wicklow, Ireland

Tutor/Trainer:    I did course development and delivery of subjects which included:  Systems Analysis, Project Management, Software Testing, Software Marketing, Computer Programming (COBOL) subjects.  Also responsible for the management of (COBOL) Student Projects; these were run to model an apprenticeship software creation environment.  I was resposible for the teaching, course delelopment and student assessments in Bray, Ireland and Delft, Holland.

 

Shared Medical Systems (SMS)                                                                                Dublin, Ireland           

Project Manager:       I was responsible for managing the collection and definition of End User Requirement of the Inpatient Admission Hospital Information System in Portiuncula Hospital, Galway. I created Project Plans and managed meetings to discuss system requirements with customers and managers within the hospital.  I held Software Engineering meetings with programmers and developers. I working on specification requirements to port an existing SMS Patient Waiting Application used in Canada, so that it would incorporate requirements needed for Irish hospitals.  Also I was responsible for creating and updating customer specification, as well as QA documentation.

Installation Consultant:  My duties were systems analysis of Information Systems which included Inpatient Admissions, Outpatients, Waiting Lists, Pharmacy and Patient Billing.  Main tasks were Project Management and Installation of Information Systems based on MUMPs. Additionally I was resposible for the creation of the Functional Specfication Documents.  Also my  role involved supporting System Quality Assurance for Inpatient and Outpatient Hospital Information Systems. Main tasks were customer meetings to define functionality required for respective systems.  Ongoing management of maintenance and modification of running systems was a major part of the responsibility for this position.  Primary Customer sites included Mater (Private & Public) and St. Vincent’s Hospitals in Dublin.

 

Automatic Data Processing, Inc.                                                                     Norridge, Illinois USA

Data Processing Clerk: Responsible for data prep of payroll and insurance data capture documents used by Data Entry keyboard operators, also I was responsible for operating minicomputers for data transfers  of  mainframes for final processing.
