Beathaisnéis/Biography

Is as cathair Phort Láirge do Shane ó dhúchas. Bhain sé a bhunchéim san oideachas agus a chéim dhochtúra sa Nua-Ghaeilge amach ó Choláiste Mhuire Gan Smál, Luimneach. Tá sé ina Léachtóir Cúnta sa Ghaeilge i Roinn na nDán, IT Phort Láirge. Chaith sé tréimhsí ag teagasc agus ag léachtóireacht le Roinn na Gaeilge agus leis an Roinn um Oideachas Teanga agus Litearthachta, Coláiste Mhuire Gan Smál Luimneach agus in Ollscoil Luimnigh. Bhí sé ina Oifigeach Taighde le hÚdarás na Gaeltachta agus le Tascfhórsa Uíbh Ráthaigh chomh maith.

Shane undertook his undergraduate education and PhD research in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. He is an Assistant Lecturer in Irish in the Department of Arts at Waterford Institute of Technology. He has lectured previously in Roinn na Gaeilge and in the Department of Language and Literacy Education in Mary Immaculate College and with the School of English, Irish and Communication in the University of Limerick. Shane has also worked as Research Officer with the Research and Sectoral Development Department in Údarás na Gaeltachta and Tascfhórsa Uíbh Ráthaigh (Iveragh Peninsula Taskforce).
