My Biography

Sinead O’Riordan is a Lecturer in Multimedia in Waterford Institute of Technology.

She graduated in 1993 with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Computing from WIT and commenced work as a Software Developer in the former Digital Equipment Corporation Ltd. in Galway. From here, Sinead moved to Trinity College Dublin where she worked for six years. In TCD, she initially worked in the development and delivery of IT courses to both staff and undergraduate students. Later on, she became the College’s Web Administrator, having developed an interest in multimedia and web development.

Since joining WIT in 2000, Sinead has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes, and supervised projects at undergraduate level, specialising mainly in areas such as Graphic Design, Image and Graphic Manipulation and Development, Typography, 2D Animation, Video Production and Web Development. In 2003 she completed her M.A. in Multimedia from Tallaght Institute of Technology. She recently took up the role as Course Leader of the BSc in Multmedia Applications Development.

  • 2000 – 2006 - Course Leader, B.Sc. in Multimedia Applications Development, WIT.
  • 1993 – 1997 – Development and delivery of Information Technology courses to undergraduate students and College staff,  in Trinity College Dublin.
