My Biography

Completed BSc (1H) in Biosystems Engineering in UCD in 2003. Subsequently completed an MSc (by research) and a PhD in UCD. Dr Woodcock's PhD (Teagasc Walsh Fellowship) focussed on chemometric analysis of NIR spectral data to identify geographical origin of food products.

Following his PhD Dr Woodcock worked for a UCD campus company (Biosystems Engineering Ltd) carrying out thermal validation of food products for almost a year. He subsequently carried out post doctoral research work in the area of renewable energy, focusing particularly on gasification technology. He was appointed lecturer in UCD focussing mainly on the then newly established taught masters programme in Renewable Energy and Green Technology.

Dr Woodcock is currently working in Waterford Institute of Technology where he is the course leader for the BSc in Agriculture course, with main lecturing duties focussing on this course as well as the BSc in Agricultural Science, the BSc in Food Science and Innovation and the BSc in Land Management in Agriculture.
