Events Landing PageThe Certificate in Business Analytics is aimed at up-skilling candidates for a career as financial analyst/data analyst. The programme has been developed in response to demand from companies for specialist graduates with advanced skills and knowledge in areas such as econometrics, data modelling, business intelligence, advanced financial analysis and interpretation. This course will address the needs of several key stakeholders both nationally and regionally by affording employees a valuable opportunity to upskill/reorient their career.
The programme will be delivered on two evenings per week from 7.00pm to 10.00pm each evening for two twelve week semesters. Semester one will start in September and semester two will start in January.
The Certificate in Business Analytics is part of a suite of awards that can lead to an MBS Finance and Business Analytics. The delivery of the modules will take place at a time that suits the part-time cohort (evenings). The Certificate in Business Analytics brings together a number of data analysis modules from the Institutional module portfolio. The macro-economic need for the programme is well established. The National Skills Bulletin 2021 identified areas experiencing labour shortages including business intelligence, data analytics and financial analysts: these speak directly to the Certificate in Business Analysis.
The delivery method is innovative and challenging, consisting of lectures, ICT workshops, group work and presentations. Participants receive intensive practical training in key skills within data analysis. Participants use a wide range of software including SQL; Advanced Excel; Qlikview and SPSS.
The programme is targeted at a broad range of potential applicants (business, IT, science and humanities graduates etc.) the entry criteria are broad although those students with quantitative/numerical skills would be considered more favourably.
