The Higher Certificate in Community Education and Development offers participants the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of community education and development in action.  Coming from a pro-equality, anti-poverty perspective, the lecturers encourage participants to become agents of positive change within their communities in order to tackle educational and community disadvantage.  The course is delivered using group work methods with a focus on shared learning.

The course is aimed at people who:

  • Are active in their community, in either a voluntary or paid capacity

  • Have not had access to benefits from the formal education system

  • Work from an equality perspective

  • Candidates must show a capacity for third level study.

Duration:  2 Years

Progression: On successful completion of this course, graduates may progress to the BA in Community Education and Development.

Assessment: 100% continuous assessment.

Fees:

€370 per 10ECTS Module

Applicants must:

  • be over 23 years on or before 1 January 2020
  • be actively engaged in the Community and Voluntary sector.· Work from an equality perspective.·
  • Have computer and internet access.

 

Applicants whose primary language is not English must submit evidence of competency in English.  Please see our website for more details  www.wit.ie/englishrequirements

Fees:  €370 per module

On successful completion of this course, graduates may progress to the BA in Community Education and Development.
