This introductory module is designed to enable the student to understand and use everyday
expressions and basic phrases.
In order to earn the 5 QQI / European Credit Transfer System credits that attach to this
module students would need to pass the in-class assessment including 30% oral.

Spanish Course Structure
Contexts / themes that will be used include the following:

Speaking and Interaction – give a short rehearsed basic presentation on a familiar subject and answer straightforward follow-up questions

Writing - write simple short phrases

Listening - generally identify the topic of and understand the main point of discussion between native speakers when it is conducted slowly and clearly

Reading - understand short simple texts
Spanish Entry Requirements
Applicants should have completed Spanish (Level I).
Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Students over 23 years of age may be exempted from this
requirement if they can demonstrate that they are suitable candidates for the course of study.
