Higher Certificate in Adult and Further Education
The Higher Certificate in Arts in Adult and Further Education is a third level qualification for current adult and further education practitioners and for those wishing to pursue a career in adult or further education. This includes those currently working in adult basic education, further education and training and community education. It is a modular part-time programme with a delivery model that facilitates the working practitioner that is based on weekend teaching blocs and use of the WIT virtual learning environment.
Delivery
The programme is designed to offer flexible pathways to the major award and includes advanced entry opportunities for experienced practitioners who may apply through the WIT RPL policy for direct entry at stage two, provided that they meet the learning outcomes set down for all Stage One modules. Students will be awarded the Higher Certificate on successful completion of 12 modules

Entry to the Programme is open to all applicants who currently work in adult or further education settings, or those looking to progress into a tutor or trainer role in adult or further education.

Participants who successfully complete the Higher Certificate in Arts in Adult and Further Education may progress to an ordinary degree programme at NFQ 7, the Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education.
