About the Club
SETU Waterford Surf Club was rebooted last year in September 2011 after a few years this year hoping to start back again this coming with a Bang! We use a local beach(Tramore) that is not to far from the college or Waterford City. There is also a bus on root too. Using a local surf shop (http://www.tramoresurfshop.com/ or http://www.facebook.com/tramoresurfshopandtramoresurfschool?ref=ts&fref=ts), offering surf club members once they have signed up to the University club rental for a good price of €10; this includes wetsuit, boots, gloves and hood(if wanted). The hire is normally €20 also a surf lesson is thrown in for those who are just the beginning to learn to catch the waves!
The club is open to all students, and a great way to meet new friends and have a good laugh in a good safe environment, as in the water every one looks out for each other; and that's important to be safe.
We are also very popular with Erasmus students and it's a GREAT way for those Erasmus student to meet Irish students, improve their English and also meet other Erasmus students. Most importantly is MAKING LIFE LONG FRIENDSHIPS near and far.
