The student contribution charge for the academic year 2022/2023 is €3,000. This may be paid in two installments. Terms and conditions will apply and SETU reserves the right to withhold certain student facilities where T&Cs are breached.

While the delivery mode will be changing for the delivery of programmes, the programme content and standards expected of graduates will remain the same and students will receive the same level of teaching and support whether on campus or studying remotely. All learners can expect to graduate with the same quality assured qualification that will qualify them in their particular discipline.
If your circumstances have changed since the last academic year, perhaps you could contact SUSI to see if you are entitled to any support funding (additional or new). Also please note that we offer students the option to pay their fees in two instalments, 50% in September and the remaining 50% due by end of January. We would also advise any student who is having difficulty paying their fees to contact [email protected] and one of our team will engage with them directly.

All students and pending students can make a grant application to the single grant authority SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland). For further information about grant entitlement, rates of grants and grants means testing please see www.studentfinance.ie

There is no need to submit your award letter to the grants office. SUSI will notify the Institute of all awards. WIT will then issue an invoice to SUSI for student fees to be paid directly to SETU Waterford. Once payment is received the student’s registration status is updated.

Yes you will be allowed to register without paying fees once you indicate on the online registration portal that you have applied for a SUSI grant. Details will be emailed shortly after you receive your offer through the CAO.

Students applying to SUSI will be paid their maintenance on a monthly basis (nine installments) by electronic funds transfer from SUSI straight into your nominated bank account. The Student Contribution /tuition element of the fee grant will be paid directly to SETU Waterford on your behalf.

Any refund due to you will be repaid once SETU Waterford has received payment in full from SUSI or any other relevant authority. In order for your refund to be processed you must complete a bank mandate form and submit it to the Grants office at SETU Waterford. You can print this form from here.

If you have been living in another EU Member State the EEA OR Switzerland for at least 3 of the last 5 years immediately before your programme commences, you may be eligible for a grant or Student Contribution fees only. If you do not qualify at the beginning of your course, it is possible for you to meet this requirement during the course of your studies. This is reviewed at the beginning of an academic year. You will be required to provide photocopies of supporting documents such as income tax returns/ domestic bills showing your residency in that country. Students pay fees online using a Debit/Credit cards as part of the online registration process. SETU Waterford cannot accept cash payments. A receipt will be issued to your specified email address. There is a daily limit on some payment cards. Check with your bank prior to starting the Online Registration process to ensure you have a sufficient limit facility.

Yes you will be allowed to sit your examinations however where a student continues to have an outstanding debt(e.g. student contribution, tuition fee etc.) their registration record will have a ‘hold’ placed on it the which will cause the following restrictions to apply:

Examination results will be withheld

Access to transcripts, statement of results, registration letters etc. will be withheld

Continuing students will not be permitted to register for subsequent academic years

Students will not be permitted to graduate until outstanding debt (including fines, where applicable) has been cleared in full

Students will not receive information about conferring, or be conferred until their fees are paid in full
