Start WIT Registration and Orientation

This year’s StartWIT Orientation for the 2021-2022 incoming CAO will be a blended approach which will take place virtually from the 15th, 16th and 17th September (via the Zoom platform) and on campus (20th and 21st September).

(Note: You must be registered prior to attending any of the campuses to engage with StartWIT Orientation or attending classes on September 22 September ).

There are 2 steps to StartWIT:

Step 1: Online Orientation - Online Orientation will take place between Wednesday 15 September to Friday 17 September 2021. Details will be issued to the e-mail used on your CAO application from Tuesday, 14th of September from [email protected]

Step 2: Online Registration - Please see here a help 'How to Document' Details will be issued to the e-mail used on your CAO application from Wednesday, 15th of September from [email protected] Please ensure you comeplete your online registration by Friday 17th of September, before engaging in on campus activity from September 20th and classes which commence from September 22nd.

StartWIT Orientation for the 2021 incoming CAO students will be a blended approach. First year Orientation will take place predominantly online (via the Zoom platform) from Wednesday 15th September to 17th September with students invited to come on campus for an open day during the 20th and 21st September, if they would like to see what facilities, services and supports are available. Please ensure to complete your online registration prior to attending on campus activities or before classes start on September 22nd. Details of this were sent to you by [email protected]

The WIT team have put together and interactive plan of how this Orientation will welcome first year students to the Institute. The Orientation will cover the following:

- Virtual Campus Tour

- What to expect for on-campus Orientation

On Campus Orientation sample (2 Hours)

The Virtual First year Online Orientation will be followed by an on-campus orientation for first years over the two days 20th and 21st September. This will be an Informal flexible Open day where 1st year students will get the opportunity to come onto campus to find out about what services/ supports are available or get a campus tour etc. In conjunction with WITSU, WIT Novas and WIT Student services, information stands will be set up in Atrium and at entry points. Please ensure to complete your online registration prior to attending on campus activities or before classes start on September 22nd. Details of this were sent to you by [email protected]

Extensive planning has gone into developing an engaging online Orientation for our incoming students this year during very challenging times as you can appreciate. Below is a sample outline of whats will be covered during the Online Orientation.

Different courses deliver their orientation in different ways. It is extremely important that you attend.

In addition to Orientation for first years, WIT is offering an on campus orientation for last year’s first year students (Now second years), many of whom have not been on campus during this academic year. This will be an Informal Open day theme where 2nd year students will get the opportunity to come onto campus before classes start back to find out about what services/ supports are available or get a campus tour etc.

(Note: You must be registered prior to attending campus to engage with ReStart Orientation or attending classes on September 8th).
