The Computing & Maths Learning Centre is located in FTG25 on the Cork Road Campus. Maths image

It is open to all students.

There is no need to make an appointment and it is free of charge.

It provides additional support to students with the maths content of their courses. It is also a quiet study area for students to work on their maths assignments. Students should bring their own class notes, homework or past exam papers. The tutor may not have access to your course material so it is important that you bring your own.

All students welcome — No need to make an appointment — Bring your notes and class work!

A full schedule of academic writing workshops are available to all students for semester 2 via zoom. These will be run over an 8 week period covering a wide range of topics. These workshops are free to SETU students. if you have any queries in relation to these workshops please email [email protected]  

During the semester Student Life and Learning run Academic Writing Workshops for students who might need some direction on writing reports, projects, referencing etc. Please come along to our Zoom sessions for assistance with your academic writing.There is no need to book, just drop in to a session that suits you. Its also free.

One to One Library Help

One to ones aim to give personalized, in-depth library support for SETU undergraduate students, postgraduate students and staff. So whether you are starting out in the first year of your course or looking for a refresher on library databases we are here to help you.


One to one library help is delivered online via Zoom and is available Monday - Friday.


The session will :
- Focus on your specific assignment/research topic when looking at library resources
- Give you tips on how to best search the database using keywords and phrases
- Show you database features that make your searches more effective and more efficient
- Help you get the full-text of the books, ebooks and academic journal articles you need
- Show you where to find useful library guides on Evaluating Information, Referencing, Literature Reviews & more
- Address any other library related queries you have
- You can sign up for a session using the link on this page. We will contact you within two working days to schedule and/or confirm the session.
