Student Assistance Fund

The Student Assistance Fund is now open

for the academic year 2016/2017.

The Student Assistance Fund (SAF) is co-funded by the Irish Government and European Union under the European Social Fund ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020.

The Fund provides financial support to students who are in significant financial difficulty and whose participation in college would be at risk without support. The Fund is best described as a contributory payment which helps students meet some of the day-to-day costs associated with being in college.

Please note there is only ONE application per academic year.

If your application is successful, you will be awarded a once off payment.

There is no closing date, the Fund will be administered until it is exhausted.

The number of students that may be approved for funding and the level of awards are subject to the number of applications received and the overall availability of funding. As soon as the Fund has been distributed in full, no further awards can be made regardless of eligibility.

The student may be interviewed by two members of the Student Assistance Fund Finance Committee to assess their needs upon which a decision on the level of support to be assigned is made.

Please note that all students are allocated a unique student email account. It is the Institute policy that all official email is sent to this account.  It is essential that you check this email account on a regular basis.  Your student email account is your [email protected] (i.e. [email protected]) and is accessed using the original password that you received.
