Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative Web development student to gain practical experience, using your technical skills to develop and update the online presence of this popular company. Mentored throughout and working closely with other teams, you will assist in developing the look and functionality of the website(s) across all platforms. This is a great chance to showcase your skills and boost your career aspirations.


  • Carry out modifications and maintenance of company websites
  • Ensure that all end user websites are up to date
  • Contribute some back-end experience, collaborating on APIs and more
  • Apply cross-browser compliance for optimal user experiences
  • Test pages and sites during development for usability and bug fixing

Personal Skills

  • Good understanding and experience of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Excellent understanding and experience using web technologies such as WordPress, HTML & CSS
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap framework and experience with building responsive interfaces
  • Ability to work across a variety of web projects
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and effective problem solver
  • Good communication skills

The host company is a franchise of a well-known city tour operator, now operating in over 100 locations worldwide and spanning six of the seven continents. Their bright, cheerful and fun-filled red open top buses are sought after by tourists and visitors to some of the world’s top destinations. The host, based in Belfast, is looking to increase popularity for tours in this historic city and this is the ideal opportunity to be involved in their success story.
