Edited by Dr Tom Boland and Dr Ray Griffin, "The sociology of unemployment" is an analysis of the experience and governance of unemployment. By considering unemployment as more than just the absence of work; the book explores unemployment as a distinctive experience created by the welfare state. A number of lecturers at WIT have also contributed chapters, including Jonathan Culleton, Dr John O'Brien, Aisling Tuite and Dr Jennifer Yeager.
The book will be launched by Fr Seán Healy of Social Justice Ireland. Fifty copies of the book will be available at the launch at the special discount price of €15 (rrp €24).
