On 29 and 30 May 2018, 200 primary school students will take part in The LEAP Project sponsored by the Local Enterprise Office in Waterford in conjunction with Junior Achievement Ireland. The project is designed to encourage early-stage entrepreneurship’ with 4th class primary school students where prior to the event they will learn how to become entrepreneurs and design a business plan. Their business ideas will then be showcased in WIT and presented to local business “judges”. Four schools from Waterford city and four schools from Waterford county will take part over the course of the two days.
The schools invited to take part this year are:
29 May - Holy Cross NS, Light of Christ NS, Passage East NS, Kilmacthomas Primary school
30 May - Presentation Primary School, Mount Sion Primary School, St. Saviour’s NS and St. Mary’s N.S.
Business mentors are visiting their classroom over the course of April and May to help them prepare their business plans and encourage them to be creative with their ideas. The students are really looking forward to their exciting day out to WIT to showcase their ideas.
