As one of the largest employers in Waterford, WIT is participating in Ireland's National Workplace Wellbeing Day (an initiative of Ibec, and the Nutrition and Health Foundation).
The nationwide campaign aims to help improve employee health through promoting better nutrition and physical activity in the workplace. There are many initiatives available on the day.
The day itself will host a number of health and well-being initiatives on both the Cork Rd. and College St. Campuses. These will range from;
Work Place Coffee morning (10.30-11.30am –Cork Rd. & College St. Campuses)
Workshop by Dagmar Khan; ‘An end to Stress: 5 step process to end anxiety for good’
Talks and cookery demonstrations in relation to Healthy eating
Mini health checks – Corporate Area of Gallery Restaurant
Lunchtime walk (Slí na Sláinte – Cork Rd Campus @ 1pm)
Meditation (10-11am A02 Cork Rd. Campus / 12-1 Dance Studio College St.)
The Marie Keating Foundation will also be on site on the day whilst the WIT Arena will demonstrate some of the various classes and activities available in the WIT Arena. The following stands will also be on site on the day;
- Ballybeg Greens
- Kiloween Yogurts
- Trudies Kitchen
- Chill Bag Zone
The day will also see the launch of #kindwaterford which is an initiative that is being brought to the Campus by 2nd year Health Promotion students.
