This fantastic exhibition showcases the creative work of the architectural students at SETU Waterford. Their projects reimagine how Waterford and the region might develop in a sustainable way. ‘The students work is extremely creative and allows us to imagine new ways of living, playing and working.
Sustainable design is deeply rooted in each project as we endeavour to embed the Universal Sustainable Goals in all our work’ says Máire Henry, Head of Department of Architecture and Built Environment at SETU Waterford. ‘This is also a chance for anyone interested in architecture as a career to review the type of work involved’. The B.Arch. programme in SETU was the first accredited professional architectural programme outside of the two schools of Architecture in Dublin.
The Department has recently received major government funding to help prepare graduates to combat climate change and respond creatively to the housing crisis. A new Masters in Architecture which will specialize in sustainable design and care of our architectural heritage and landscape has recently received academic approval. This is a positive development for the Department and for the Region.
