The Department of Engineering Technology at WIT is holding a 'Try Engineering Technology' day for senior cycle secondary and further education schools.
Students will participate in hands on practical labs encompassing all five core engineering areas; Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. There is currently a huge demand for graduates from these programmes in leading technical positions in Medical Device, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Energy, IT, Robotics, Materials and other high value industry sectors. It is planned to have information talks/video's from graduates and employers. Our staff and students will be available to offer advice regarding our courses and what college life is like at WIT. Tours of the campus and laboratories will also be conducted.
This event is primarily aimed at 5th and 6th Year Leaving Certificate students. TY and FE students are also welcome, subject to the availability of places.
How to book
The cost of the event is €20 and will cover all materials for the day as well as a take home engineering 'goodie' bag. Teachers and career guidance counsellors are also very welcome to attend. Booking early is advised as places are limited.
