The new SETU Waterford Orchestra and Concert Strings return for their first performance in almost 3 years. In one concert, both Orchestras feature an array of talent and a wide variety of music. It has long been overdue.
The programme includes many showstoppers from Music Theatre and some monumental classical greats.
Two of Waterford’s finest young soloists join forces with the Orchestras. Nataliya O’Neill (18) performs the virtuosic Accolay Violin Concerto No.1. A student of SETU music school, Nataliya is a member of The National Youth Orchestra of Ireland & leader of the Dublin Youth Symphony Orchestra. She is recent prize winner at the senior Feis Ceoil and you will hear why when she takes to the stage.
At just 13 years of age, Alexandra Keane takes on the colossal Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3. which must seen and heard to be believed. Not only does she have the technical ability but also the musical maturity to make it sing. WOW!
Music Theatre fans will get to hear their favourite music performed as it should be – with a live Concert Orchestra and top pros. Vocalists Greta Rochford, Paul Kavanagh and Hayley Tyrrell will do the honours.
There is a world premiere too! Academic Anthem by Waterford composer Greg Scanlon will celebrate the arrival of the SETU. The Ad Hoc Chorale will be the Orchestra’s special guest.
Admission is FREE with limited availability with pre booking essential on Eventbrite and Red Cross will be accepting donations on the night for the UKRAINE Crisis Appeal.
