The 2021 WIT Research Excellence Awards will take place on Friday, 8 October, with a private ceremony at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). The aim of the awards is to recognise the outstanding contributions of WIT academic and research staff to high quality, innovative research that enhances the reputation of the Institute both locally and internationally.
The event will be available to the public to live stream from 10.30am to 12.00pm as the awardees are presented with a plaque commemorating the occasion by WIT President Prof Willie Donnelly, and Minister Simon Harris (Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science) will congratulate the awardees virtually. We welcome the entire WIT community to join us in celebrating the nominees and awardees in recognition of their research achievements.
The awards ceremony will be attended by the Vice President of Research Innovation and Graduate Studies, Dr Mark White and by the Head of Research, Dr Geraldine Canny, who will announce the awardees under the following categories:
