Leading and Motivating Your Research Teams

Leading and Motivating Your Research Teams
Location: Online

Please note that due to the Coronavirus outbreak this event has now been moved to an online webinar.

You can still register for the event and details of how to join the live stream will be sent to you in advance.

Target Audience: Research Leaders (PI's and Supervisors)

In difficult times, people look to their leaders for guidance and this is no different in the world of research.  Part of the core function of a research leader or supervisor is to lead and help motivate their teams.  This webinar will examine a number of ideas about getting the best out of the team around you, especially when that team is informal or located remotely.

Of course, this is not a simple undertaking – but by considering our personal leadership style and by aiming to understand others’ drives and needs then we can, perhaps, inspire, communicate and delegate more effectively – especially in, and hopefully beyond, these incredibly challenging times.

In this short (but as interactive as possible) webinar, led by a former academic researcher, we will pragmatically focus on:

  • Identifying others’ motivations and drives
  • Considering your own personal leadership style
  • Effective delegation and communicating objectives

and all of these will be discussed within a research leadership or supervision context.
