This seminar is open to the public and will be of particular interest to educators at both second and third level. The event will be live-streamed on the day.
It is organised by Mr. Peter Windle in the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning at WIT in conjunction with the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.
Online behaviour is evolving at an ever-increasing pace. When it comes to students’ digitally accessing information about key topics of interest, long gone are the days of standard websites being the default and largely only option.
Whilst of course websites remain very popular, adults in Ireland today are turning in large numbers to a plethora of other sources such as blogs, tweets, podcasts and online video in order to get information about what they are most interested in. When it comes to digital habits and platforms of choice there is a widening gap between school leavers and mature students.
Content consumption
This seminar is funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and will examine the changes in digital behaviours and address future trends in content consumption among students of all ages.
The speaker and participants will contribute to a podcast reflecting their experience and knowledge gained in the seminar. This will be shared internally in the institute and externally on various social media channels to promote the seminar and National Seminar Series.
