Are you new to research student supervision? Or an experienced supervisor wanting to explore more about the supervisor student relationship?

Prof. Charles Normand, Professor of Health Policy and Management, Trinity College Dublin (view profile »); Professor of the Economics of Palliative Care and Rehabillitation, Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London will be here in WIT on Friday January 25th 2019 delivering a unique lunchtime seminar sharing his experiences of supervising over 38 PhDs to date.

This seminar will afford you the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the impact of supervision relationships, tensions, worries, and pitfalls on PGR progression, development and career. During the session Prof. Normand will reflect on the purpose of the PhD and the importance of the learning  experience as well as the products. He will also discuss the balance between helping students and helping students to help themselves followed by a Q&A session. A light lunch will also be provided.
