The event, now in its 11th year, is an opportunity for third level sports staff, students (current and past) and national governing bodies of sport to come together over three days to share best practices, exchange ideas and to hear from a variety of guest speakers. One of the key themes for the event is Women in Sport.
On Thursday 23 May, Waterford IT President Prof. Willie Donnelly will officially open Network 2019. The event will feature presentations and discussion on various topics including:
- Women in Sport
- Dual Careers
- Inter varsity Competitions
- Annual presentations for the Student Sport Ireland Event of the Year and Leadership Awards.

WIT connections
There is a strong WIT connection throughout the event with Dr. Niamh Murphy and Emma Saunders from the Department of Sport & Exercise Science presenting on the topics of 'Changing the Culture of Irish Sport - Breaching the Gender Gap' and Dual Career Discussion respectively. Niamh will be joined by current WIT student & Irish athlete Phil Healy.
The evening events will feature a panel discussion on Women in Sport with the panel made up of current and former WIT Students:
