Biology labs - an introduction to the biological sciences at WIT

Students can engage in discussions and demonstrations on scientific activities in areas such as Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology and Diagnostics that will show important concepts behind the study of biological sciences at WIT. Student participation in these sessions will be possible due to the small numbers booked for each ‘taster’ session.

Pharmaceutical Science labs - an introduction to Pharmaceutical Science at WIT

Students can engage in discussions and demonstrations in relation to commonly used pharmaceutical preparation and analytical methods. While you are participating in this session, you will see the various types of instrumentation available in the pharmaceutical science laboratory. You will have the unique opportunity to work with the staff in the Department of Science, ask questions and discuss the various options available to you.

Food Science labs - an introduction to Food Science at WIT

Food Science incorporates elements of biology and chemistry. On the day, students will discover the role of vitamins in foods and how we can determine vitamin content. The students will get the opportunity to engage in discussions and demonstrations in our laboratories and to speak with the lecturers about the courses and options available for food science graduates.

Physics Labs - an introduction to Physics at WIT

Students will engage in hands-on activities in areas such as mechanics, light and sound that will demonstrate important physical principles and their use in technology. In addition, you will learn how to turn your mobile phone into a physics lab. You will also gain an appreciation of the wide variety of career options that are available to physics graduates. (Prior to participating in this session you should download (and install) the phyphox app to your mobile phone. phyphox is available for free on Android and iOS.)
