Progression How To Apply

How to apply for entry to year one:

  • Applicants for year-one entry must apply through the CAO for a linked WIT course(s). The CAO deadline for applications is 1 February on the year of entry. The CAO also have a late deadline of 1 May on the year of entry for non-restricted courses.
     
  • Applicants should inform the relevant co-ordinator or course leader in their further education college that they wish to apply for the WIT Progression Scheme and complete whatever local application processes are in place. The College of Further Education will then notify WIT of the applicants for the progression scheme.
     
  • Applicants should attend WIT workshops and/or information sessions in their College of Further Education, acquaint themselves with the criteria for entry, and fulfil any additional requirements specified under the progression agreement for their chosen programme, such as additional modules, portfolio assessment, or music entrance examination.
     

How to apply for entry to year two:

  • Applicants for year-two entry must apply through the Institute’s Advanced Entry Process by the published closing date for a linked WIT course(s) (see www.wit.ie/advancedentry).
     
  • Applicants should inform the relevant co-ordinator or course leader in their College of Further Education that they wish to apply for the WIT Progression Scheme and complete whatever local application processes are in place. The College of Further Education will then notify WIT of the applicants for the progression scheme.
     
  • Applicants should attend WIT workshops and/or information sessions in their College of Further Education, acquaint themselves with the criteria for entry, and fulfil any additional requirements specified under the progression agreement for their chosen programme, such as additional modules or attend for interview.
     

Selection Criteria:

The reserved places on each WIT programme for the WIT Progression Scheme will be allocated to eligible applicants on a descending ranked order.
