The School of Lifelong Learning and Education offers programmes for international students who wish to study English in order to improving their standard in the language with a view to progressing to undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at the Institute or elsewhere in the English-speaking world.
- Certificate in English for Academic Study (40 ECTS credits)
- Certificate in Academic English (20 ECTS credits)
These programmes were placed at Level 6 on the NQF and facilitate the development of academic and integrated English skills, as well as the standard language acquisition required by IELTS-type examinations. The entry requirements for these programmes are 4.5 and 5 IELTS, respectively.
Students who achieve an overall pass in the Certificate in English for Academic Study or the Certificate in Academic English will fulfil the English Language Entry Requirements for all undergraduate programmes at WIT.
Please note that students wishing to apply for entry to Postgraduate programmes will be required to show evidence of the required levels of IELTS or TOEFL for the respective postgraduate programme. Successful completion of the Level 6 Certificate in English for Academic Study or Certificate in Academic English will not fulfil the English language entry requirements for postgraduate programmes at WIT.
