What is Erasmus+?
Erasmus+ is the European Union funded programme for boosting skills and employability in education, training, youth and sport.
It is managed in Ireland by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), click here for more information about the HEA in Ireland.
Erasmus+ offers exciting opportunities for Irish participants to study, work, volunteer, teach and train in Europe and internationally and the majority of our partners deliver modules in the English language. While on Erasmus+ students are exempt from paying tuition fees at the host institution and receive financial support to help cover travel and living expenses.
The Erasmus+ is designed so a student can do part of their academic work in a partner institute.
As an Erasmus+ student you get to experience another culture, improve your language skills and learn about the different approaches taken to your subjects in another Country and institute. The time spent in the host institution is fully recognized by WIT through the use of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
WIT has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ programme since 2001 and continues to play an active and positive role in the programme. We are partners with over 200 higher education institutions, providing a divers range of exchange opportunities for our students and staff. The Office for International Relations at WIT is responsible for co-ordinating the Erasmus+.
