Undergraduate Study at SETU Waterford
SETU Waterford offers programmes of studies at higher certificate, bachelor degree and honours bachelor degree levels. Programmes leading to a Higher Certificate take 2 years of full-time study, Bachelor Degrees take 3 years and Honours Bachelors Degrees take 3-4 years of full-time study.
Advanced Entry into Undergraduate Programmes
Students who have completed University or College awards in their own country may be considered for advanced entry into SETU Waterford programmes further to making an application to the university.

How to Apply - Undergraduate Study
Applicants who are not citizens of EU member states, nor have resided for full-time undergraduate courses of study in Ireland should apply directly using the online applications. If you are a citizen of an EU member state you should apply through The Central Applications Office (CAO).
Our online application facility opens in November each year. Once your complete application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. You will be prompted then to send supporting documents. It is important all requested documents is sent to us. If you are unsure you can contact our team

Entry Requirements
- If English is not your first language, students should present evidence of competence. Please see here for a full list of SETU Waterford’s English Language Requirements.
- You should be at least 17 years of age in January of the year of entry.
- You must have a Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
- Some courses have special entry requirements, which you should check under the course details.
Application Process
Once you have completed and submitted your online application and all requested supporting documents have been submitted to [email protected] you will receive acknowledgment from our team.
Your supporting documentation should be clear, legible and sent as a PDF attachment. Please do not copy and paste documents into the body of your email. We cannot process your documentation if we cannot read them.
Our closing date for receipt of applications is 17 June. Students are required to familiarise themselves with visa processing times for their country of origin to ensure a timely application is made.
We assess all applications to ensure the entry requirements of the course applied for are met. If it is determined that you are eligible for the programme applied for, a letter of offer is issued to you. This letter will contain your student ID number which you will need to quote in all correspondence with us. This letter will also contain information on your course and fee requirements. You will be required to pay a deposit with the balance of your fees paid prior to your arrival in line with your visa requirements. You must retain this letter as proof of acceptance at SETU Waterford as it will be required for your visa application process.
