Well-designed modules are among the features of the flexible MSc in Nursing that are appealing about the part-time level 9 programme
MSc in Nursing student Yetunde Ajibola Folaranmi is a registered nurse with approx. 15 years’ experience as a mental health nurse.
My motivation for doing the programme was:
I have always believed that the sky is only a starting point and getting to the peak of my career has been a huge driving force. The flexibility of the programme, with the blended delivery approach coupled with the opportunity of having the mental health option as part of the Masters programme ticked all the boxes for me and gave me all the motivation I needed to study the course.
The impact on my career:
The programme has not only broadened my knowledge in nursing, but has also been an eye-opener to the myriad of opportunities that can be harnessed in developing my nursing career. More importantly, I have gravitated to the academic career pathway as a result of the programme and in line with my interest in nursing education.
The module or part of the course that will benefit me most:
All the modules are bespoke and well designed. However, I found the Research Methods and Professional Caring modules most beneficial to me.
My advice for adult learners considering this programme is:
The programme is very robust albeit it’s intense, but definitely rewarding on completion. It will give you the leverage you need in your nursing career and project you as far as you intend to go.
Why I would recommend studying in Waterford:
- Very supportive staff (academic and administrative)
- Reasonable tuition
- Well-designed modules
- Excellent academic delivery/resources
- For all these and more, I definitely recommend SETU....
