The Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) Careers Development Centre has drawn on its strong industry links to bring 5o+ employers to its Virtual Career Summit.
The Virtual Career Summit will be hosted on the WIT Careers Centre Instagram page @wit_careers_centre running from Tuesday, 23 November – Thursday 25 November 2021 between 11am and 4pm.
Earlier this year the WIT Careers Development Centre was awarded the Association of Higher Education Career Services in Ireland (AHECS) Excellence in Employability award for Supporting Student and Graduate Employability for 2020-2021 for running a similar event previously.
Some of Ireland’s leading employers are enthusiastically supporting this initiative and are set to provide WIT’s students with advice and encouragement in navigating their career paths.
This event will see over 50 employers, companies and organisations featured, such as BNY Mellon, Connolly Red Mills, Huawei, Nikon, JPA Brenson Lawlor, Poppulo, Servisbot, Pharma Foods, UPMC Whitfield and many more. All the companies involved have insightful and helpful advice for students and graduates on topics such as:
- Exploring your options
- CV, applications and interview tips
- How to stand out to employers
- Where to locate job opportunities
The WIT Careers Development Centre are always looking at novel and innovative ways of promoting engagement between students and companies/organizations. The Virtual Career Summit is free to anyone interested in learning more about the recruitment process and receiving advice from some of Ireland’s leading companies.
The Head of WIT Careers Centre, Angela Collins said that “In light of the Coronavirus and the struggles that students and graduates are facing during this time the WIT Careers Centre decided to step in to support students with a Virtual Careers Summit. This is an exciting venture for us and we have been blown away by the level of enthusiasm and engagement shown by so many companies and organizations.”
