Donnachadha who studied Business at SETU chose the college because it was close to home but also because he knew the course was recognised as one of the best
Getting to know “loads of new friends” and “having lecturers that are always there to give a hand” was just part of the SETU experience.
Work Experience
Work experience gained while studying prepared him for the job he’s in now. Donnachadha was hired to work on a team working on an electronic bat trigger system which is a project based on data. During my four years in SETU we studied modules that dealt with SAP and business information systems these modules prepared me for this job.
Life in WIT
When asked why Donnachadha chose to study at SETU he said: “I chose SETU because it’s close to home, I’m living in Dungarvan and then again SETU is recognised as one the best business courses in Ireland so it was a no brainer for that”
Donnachadha commented on what stood out to him about WIT: “The friends that I made, everyone is easy going, you get on with the lecturers, and the classes are small so everyone knows you by name so it’s great like that.”
Advice for students
“I suppose just get to know as many people as you can, don’t be stressing out about anything, it’s a small college, you get to know everyone and the lecturers are always there to give you a hand” This was advice that Donnachadha said is most important for incoming students.
Next step
Donnachadha is planning on going abroad now that he has graduated: “At the moment I actually have booked a flight to Australia so I’m going in January we are going over for two years just to try out a few things before we settle down for a proper job. “
Donnachadha is “excited” about graduating but he says he will miss the friends he made in SETU. He is looking forward to “taking the next steps in life”.
