The HELLIN 2019 Conference, hosted by WIT's School of Lifelong Learning and Educations focused on how Lifelong Learning can help prepare us for our Future World

The Higher Education Lifelong Learning in Ireland Network (HELLIN) conference was hosted very successfully at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) on Wednesday, 11 December 2019.

A key feature of the conference was an energetic panel discussion on the future of adult learning that examined how organisations and individuals can upskill and re-skill themselves to deal with the profound changes that are happening in through rapid advances in technology, in the environment, in work and in society at large.

The Panel discussed the ‘literacies’ needed to participate in the complex modern world, the myriad of upskilling opportunities now available and how adult learning can develop to benefit the economy and society.
