The Department of the Built Environment recently welcomed a guest speaker from KORE, a passive foundation system from Cavan in Ireland.
Andrew Butler, Technical Sales Manager, KORE was invited to speak to 1st year BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying & BSc Honours in Construction Management & Engineering students.
The speaker was organised by Stephen Power, lecturer in the Built Environment. He explains why:

The System offers a range of benefits over the traditional concrete strip foundation, footing and floor method including; cost savings, programming benefits and superior U-Values and Thermal Bridging reduction. The students were shown a number of Case Studies as part of the Presentation.
